Please Don’t Touch My Hair

I mean it. Don’t fucking touch my hair.
If you’re a woman with a luxurious head of hair, you would probably agree that few things are a bigger piss off than people who feel like it’s their ‘right’ to randomly reach out and touch it.
As a member of that group, not a day goes by that someone doesn’t ask about my hair; whether it’s to inquire about what I use to moisturize it, how often I wash it or the ever-popular motion of reaching out and putting their damned hands in it.
If you’re one of those people, and no one has told you before, I’m telling you now; It’s fucking rude.
It’s something akin to the stranger who walks up to a pregnant woman and says “awww…are you pregnant?” as they fondle her belly.
She doesn’t like it.
She doesn’t like it AT ALL.
Taking it a step further, those “hair touching strangers” will also ask “is it all yours?” or the equally irritating “is it extensions?” 😡
Why do people feel like it’s ok to ask a woman that question?
It’s never ok to ask that question. It’s even less ok to touch her hair.
I don’t care if her hair is beautifully curly, or beautifully straight, wavy or if she’s bald. Unless you’re her hairstylist, or you’re giving her a sensual scalp massage…
